Needa User Agreement
Version 2026-09-18 · in effect from 18 September 2026
This agreement is between you and Needa. It applies to the website and to the Android and iOS apps. You accept it when you create an account, and you need an account to contact anyone on Needa. Please read it: it explains what Needa is, what you are responsible for, and how we will start charging for the platform in the future.
1. What Needa is
Needa is a place to find people who offer local services and to talk to them. We show who is available near you and we carry the conversation. We are not a party to the work you agree on, we do not employ the people listed here, and we take no share of what you pay them.
2. Who can use Needa
Anyone can browse services and see providers on the map without an account. To message a provider, or to offer your own services, you must create an account and accept this agreement.
You must be at least 18, give accurate details, keep your password to yourself and confirm the email address you sign up with. One account covers both sides: you can look for help and offer your own services from the same login.
3. Offering services
If you offer a service, you are responsible for it: your qualifications, licences, insurance, taxes and the quality of the work are yours, not ours. You set your own rates and hours, and you switch each service on or off yourself.
Going online publishes your location while you are available and clears it when you go offline. That is the purpose of the public map, and it is the only time you appear on it. Sharing your location with someone you agreed a service with is separate and covered in section 6.
4. Background checks are optional
Providers may ask for a background check. Passing one adds a badge to the profile. It is never required: providers without a check appear on the map, rank the same way and can be contacted like anyone else. A badge is information, not a guarantee, and it does not make us responsible for what someone does.
5. Payment for the work
Payment for the work happens between you and the other person. Needa does not process it, hold it or guarantee it, and takes no commission on it.
6. Agreeing on a service and sharing live location
Inside a conversation, either person can propose going ahead with the service, and the other can accept or decline. Agreeing in the app is optional: you can also swap phone numbers and arrange the visit outside Needa.
Once both of you have agreed, each of you can choose to share your live location with the other and say how you are travelling (walking, bike, car, bus or train). Sharing is never switched on for you:
- Only the two of you see it. Your live location appears on a private map inside that conversation. It is never shown on the public map or to anyone else.
- You control it. You can pause sharing at any time. It stops for both of you when the service is finished or cancelled, and on its own a few hours after it started if nobody closes it.
- It is not stored. Positions are held only in memory while the service is in progress and are discarded when sharing stops. We keep no record of your route.
- Arrival times are estimates. They are calculated from the distance, how you travel and your recent movement, without traffic or timetable data, and can be wrong. Do not rely on them for anything critical.
Only share your location with someone you have agreed to meet, and stop sharing whenever you feel unsafe.
7. Needa is free today and will charge for credits later
Using Needa is free today, for people looking for help and for providers alike. By accepting this agreement you acknowledge that Needa will start charging for the platform in the future, through credits bought in the app, and that this will apply to everyone who uses it:
- People looking for help will use credits to contact providers. Prices will be kept low.
- Providers will use credits for the visibility Needa gives their profile. They will pay somewhat more than people looking for help, and prices will also be kept low.
No date and no prices have been set yet. It may happen after a period of time or once Needa reaches a certain number of users. Whenever it happens, we commit to the following:
- You will hear from us first. We will tell you by email and in the app at least 30 days before any charge applies, including the prices.
- Nothing is charged automatically. You only pay if you choose to buy credits, and we do not ask for a card to use Needa today.
- Nothing is charged retroactively. What you did while Needa was free stays free.
- You start with free credits. Accounts that exist when credits are introduced will receive welcome credits, so no one has to pay on the day it starts.
If you do not want to pay once credits are introduced, you can stop using Needa and close your account at any time.
8. Behaviour
Do not harass anyone, impersonate anyone, post false profiles or fake reviews, or use Needa for anything illegal. You can block anyone, which stops all contact between you, and you can report anyone to us. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Reviews can only be written by someone who actually contacted the provider for that service, and each person leaves one review per provider and service.
9. Closing your account
You can close your account at any time from your dashboard. When you do, we remove your personal details and take your profile off the map. Messages and reviews the other person took part in remain, without your name attached.
10. What we do not promise
We do not vet the quality of anyone's work, and availability on the map is what a provider reported a moment ago, not a booking. Needa is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what happens between you and the person you hire.
11. Changes to this agreement
If we change this agreement in a way that matters, including when credits are introduced, we will tell you in advance and ask you to accept the new version before you keep using Needa. The version number at the top shows which one you accepted.
12. Languages
This agreement is offered in English and Spanish, and you can read it in either. Both say the same thing. If they ever appear to differ, the English version applies.
13. Privacy and contact
How we handle your data is explained in the Privacy Policy. Questions about this agreement or about your data go to privacy@needa.app.
This document describes how Needa works today. It should be reviewed by a lawyer before Needa relies on it commercially.
